While things have been rather quiet on the blog front as of late, the team have been busy behind the scenes planning upcoming fieldwork. Covid-19 has caused a whole host of logistical problems, but we are optimistic that work can commence in mid-January 2022. It is anticipated that data collection will take a week, with the second week taken up by archive research. The project’s artist, Eduardo Hernandez, will spend his time producing illustrations of the juvenile mummies during this time. We hope to update our blog while out in the field (internet availability and time permitting) or when we return to the office. Mentre sul blog tutto taceva, il nostro gruppo di ricerca si è impegnato dietro le quinte per organizzare l’ormai prossima missione di studio. L’emergenza sanitaria legata al Covid-19 ha determinato una miriade di problemi logistici, ma siamo fiduciosi di poter iniziare il nostro studio a metà gennaio 2022. Possiamo già affermare che la raccolta dati durerà una settimana, mentre la settimana successiva sarà interamente occupata da ricerche d’archivio. Il nostro artista, Eduardo Hernandez, trascorrerà invece questo periodo illustrando le mummie infantili. Speriamo di poter aggiornare il nostro blog durante le ricerche (tempo e internet permettendo) o al massimo non appena torneremo in ufficio.
